ASSP Toolbar for Outlook - Home

The open-source, multi-platform ASSP (Anti-Spam SMTP Proxy) provides a generic email interface for clients to interact with it, for the purposes of training its Bayesian filter and other tasks. For instance, if a user receives an email he/she considers spam (i.e., ASSP did not recognise it as spam) the user can report it back to ASSP by sending it to a specified email address. ASSP will then use the email report to help train its Bayesian filter.

ASSP also supports other functions via its email interface, such as adding or removing addresses to its whitelist, requesting help about using ASSP itself, or requesting the analysis of a particular email message.

While ASSP's email interface is a powerful one, it is not easy for users to access and not easy for an administrator to manage. Our product ASSP Toolbar for Outlook solves these problems for those using Microsoft Outlook (whether via Microsoft Exchange server or a different mail server). The toolbar integrates with Outlook, making it a breeze to exploit ASSP's email interface. Here is a screenshot of the ASSP Toolbar for Outlook in operation:

System Requirements: ASSP Toolbar for Outlook runs on 32-bit versions of Windows 2000, XP, Vista, Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2008. It requires Microsoft® Outlook® XP, 2003 or 2007 to be installed.

The download is a single zip archive file which contains the MSI client installer and 'getting started' documentation.

Please note that ASSP Toolbar for Outlook is a commercial product. When first installed, ASSP Toolbar for Outlook will allow you to evaluate it fully for a period of up to 30 days. To use the product for purposes other than evaluation, and to use it beyond the initial evaluation period, you will need to purchase a licence. We offer a range of low cost licences for use by a single user up to a large ISP who wishes to re-distribute the toolbar to its customers. You can purchase licences for immediate electronic delivery via our online ordering page at Share-It.

ASSP Toolbar for Outlook can also be fully managed by a network administrator. The product offers easy deployment via an MSI-based installer, full Group Policy support for auto-configuring client installations, and support for local hosting and management of product updates. See here for details.
